• 2002 was the year when Alex Zanardi suffered a horrific accident at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz track in Germany in the American CART Series which cost his both legs amputation. He came back a few years later in the WTCC Series with a specially modified to his handicap car.
• Formula One Career: 1991 – 1994 and 1999 with the teams of Jordan, Minardi, Lotus, Williams. He had no wins and podiums but made his mark in the history of Formula One and Motorsports.

  • Alex Zanardi is an Italian racing driver and a para cyclist. Born in 1966 in Bologna, Alex began racing at 13 with a kart he built himself in scraps from his father’s work. In 1988 he entered Formula 3 series and late to Formula 3000, winning at his first race.
